October New Releases: Fall Serves up a Bounty

It seems to me that this whole year has been one month of plenty after another in new book releases.  October continues to follow that pattern and then some.  In a perfect world, I would be a faster reader and time would slow down when I read to help me conquer the impossible TBR pile from the previous months of 2018 and now October.  But, as usual I will have to pick out some to read now and others to go on the hopeful list of future reads.  Of course, just look at what I have to choose from.  It will be a win for me whatever books I read.  I have already read November Road by Lou Berney and Go to My Grave by Catriona McPherson, and I urge you to put those on your must-read list.  They are special books that don't come along every day.  I have also read The Vanishing Box by Elly Griffiths, and this fourth book in her Stephens and Mephisto/Magic Men series is spectacular.  I was a long-time fan of Griffiths' Ruth Galloway when when she started writing the Magic Men series, and I am thrilled with the new series.   So, here is a list of some of the amazing October new releases followed by a few pics of some of my favorite covers this month.  I accidentally slipped in a picture of a late September release, The Transcription by Kate Atkinson, but I'm letting it stand, as I haven't yet read it.
