Actually, I would love to receive free, advance copies of new books, and I would consider that a step forward in my blogging. I'm really trying to get more into the swing of things in the blogging world, especially the world of book blogging. And, yes, I would love to do some freelance writing, have my reviews posted elsewhere, and get invited to events due to my blogging. I would do it for free, although being paid is always a nice dream. Today will be a real learning experience for me as I read others' thoughts on what they are involved in and how to get there. I do post reviews on goodreads.com, which connects me to a wide variety of readers and where the comments are most encouraging. If I could connect to a publication and have reviews published, it would definitely be a dream come true. Now, I need to listen to all of the Armchair BEA voices of experience and take notes.

DeleteI'm sure you'll see a lot of good suggestions today. It took a while for me to start being contacted by authors but now they contact me pretty regularly. Of course these are usually new writers and not big name writers -- I don't know how you get to that point. NetGalley is another good source. I really need to do more with Amazon and Goodreads.

DeleteThe best advice is to post, post, post. Time, dedication & some serious elbow grease are the best ways to make things happen. You have to cultivate your craft & hone your skills. Unfortunately that takes time, but you'll get there. Everyone had to start somewhere! Tattooed Books

I clicked on your name to get to your blog, Tasha, but it said something about needing to be in your circle of friends with Google+. Can I access it another way?
DeleteGood luck with all your goals! I started blogging and didn't even know you could get free books for review. I was surprised! About a year into it, I started getting requests for reviews. Hard work and patience will get you there.
